Meet the Intern Team
Registered Mental Health Interns are counselors who are currently working towards licensure with the state in which they reside. Interns are under the supervision of Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Shannon Leigh Rowell (MH 11468). Ashley Squillante: IMH 14530
Ashley graduated with her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida, in 2009, and has been working with children and families for over ten years. Ashley specializes in working with children and families who have experienced trauma; especially sexual abuse, family violence, physical abuse and associated injuries. She has worked at a domestic violence shelter, a community mental health center and foster care program. She enjoys working with all age groups and families. Through internships, education and work experience, Ashley has five years experience working in therapeutic settings and five years of experience working in the human services field. Through her strength based, holistic approach, she strives to help individuals reach realistic goals. Ashley first became interested in the mental health field after volunteering for a child advocacy agency called Guardian Ad Litem. Ashely enjoys spending time with her three year old and her family.
Robert Hovel, Jr. IMH 10156
Robert Hovel, a Registered Mental Health Intern, graduated from Rollins College in May 2012 with his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and from the University of North Florida, in May 2007, with his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Sociology. He is a registered mental health intern as well as an English teach with Seminole County Public Schools, teaching freshman standard, honors English and advanced psychology at Lyman High School.
